Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique Lille (France) Bio-statistiques The laboratory of Genetics of Multi-factorial Diseases (CNRS/University Lille 2), located in the Lille Biology Institute (Lille, FRANCE) is an active research group in Genetics Epidemiology of Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes. We are conducting genetic linkage and genetic association studies in more than 1500 pedigrees and up 15 000 unrelated individuals. Either linkage or association are performed both at the gene level and at the genome level (genome scans). UMR 8090 is now seeking to appoint a statistical geneticist/ epidemiologist/ statistician to join our statistical genetics group. The successful applicant will be involved in association analysis of candidate genes. He/she will be responsible of choice and validation of the best methods for handling highly dimensional data, analysing the data and presenting the results. Strong background in statistics, epidemiology or genetic epidemiology is required at a master level. Use of the statistical language R and experience on data analysis would be an advantage. This post is available for 3 years under an ANR contract.
