Ivo Kwee IOSI --------------------------------------------------------------------- PhD Student Position in Statistics in Switzerland on Bayesian Methods for Integrated Genomics IOSI (Oncology Institute in Bellinzona) and IDSIA (Artificial Intelligence Institute near Lugano) in Ticino, Switzerland are seeking an outstanding PhD student with excellent mathematical skills, interested in Bayesian statistics, MDL, information theory, data fusion, multiple testing, Bioinformatics, and/or related areas. The main goal of this PhD project is to develop and apply Bayesian methods in the field of microarray genomics. A masters (or equivalent) in mathematics or statistics or physics or related area is a prerequisite. The new PhD student will interact with Francesco Bertoni, Ivo Kwee, Marcus Hutter, and other people at IOSI and IDSIA. The initial appointment will be for 2 years, starting in summer 2006 (or later) with possibility of prolongation. English is the official language at IDSIA and IOSI.
