Hi all, Would anyone know how the data in the BioC metadata packages is generated? The only info I get from the website is that it was 'assembled using data from public data repositories'. I assumed that it was based on the annotation speadsheets provided by Affymetrix. However, I find some differences in the numbers I get when from either source. For example more probesets in any chip have an EG id in the BioC metadata than in the Affy spreadsheets. Also sometimes the EG ids for a probeset are different: for example for the hgu95av2 probset 31630_at, the EG id in the AFFY spreadsheet is 84991 (human Rbm17), while the EG id in BioC for the same probeset is 76938 (mouse Rbm17). I use BioC 1.7 Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Regards.
