Dear all, Two Research Assistant/Associate/Staff Scientist positions are available immediately in the Bioinformatics Core of the Karmanos Cancer Institute (Detroit). The successful candidate(s) will have a background in bioinformatics, computer science, computer engineering, statistics or a related field at the level of MSc (required) or PhD (preferred). Previous experience with statistical data analysis and/or machine learning techniques applied in high-throughput genomics/proteomics is necessary. Programming experience in R and bioconductor, as well as Java would be an advantage. The research involves NIH and NSF funded projects in cancer marker discovery, building molecular classifiers, systems biology and the development of novel bioinformatics software tools. The classification and salary are competitive and commensurate with education, experience and previous accomplishments.
