Dear all. I have written some instructions to setup a BioConductor mirror and adapt getBioC/biocLite/biocinstall installation scripts such that they access the local copies of packages instead of the bioconductor web site. The instructions can be found here: http://www.isrec.isb-sib.ch/~sengstag/bioc_mirror.html For short, there are harcoded paths in the installation scripts that can be easily replaced if the mirror directory structure reproduces that of the original bioconductor site. In the long term a solution in which the mirror location could be specified in the installation scripts would certainly be better. I didn't follow that way as it would have required heavier tailoring of the scripts, without guarantee that those changes would remain compatible with future changes in the organization of the bioconductor repository. Hope you will find this useful.
