Hi I also have a problem installing bioconductor on Linux! I am running R 1.6.2 on SUSE Linux 8.1 >R INSTALL Bioconductor_1.2.tar.gz #loads of output # # # #etc * Installing *source* package 'edd' ... ** R ** inst ** save image Error: couldn't find function "setClass" Execution halted ERROR: execution of package source for 'edd' failed ... and the installation fails. Any help? Thanks Mick

Hi Mick, did you get the package file from the website www.bioconductor.org? There, e.g. on the page "The Bioconductor Project Release Package Index", you could have read "Requires R 1.7.1 or later" in the first line of that page. Quite a lot has changed between R 1.6 and 1.7, so this is not an idle requirement. Best regards Wolfgang
