Dear All, Registration is now open for the 2009 LASR Workshop, "Statistical Tools for Challenges in Bioinformatics", which will be held in Leeds from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th July 2009. As usual the workshop format is a mixture of invited and contributed talks, and posters. It has a tradition of being informal and relaxed, and of encouraging interaction and discussion between the participants. Confirmed speakers at LASR 2009 include Clive Bowman (University of Reading) Richard Jackson (University of Leeds) John Kent (University of Leeds) Kanti Mardia (University of Leeds) Sylvia Richardson (Imperial College, London) Willie Taylor (National Institute for Medical Research) Douglas Theobald (Brandeis University) David Westhead (University of Leeds) David Wild (University of Warwick) Ian Dryden (University of Nottingham) Fred Bookstein (University of Washington and University of Vienna) Wally Gilks (University of Leeds) Peter Henderson (University of Leeds) More details are available on the workshop web site, http://www.maths.leeds.ac.uk/lasr2009 The registration fees, which include refreshments, lunches, and a copy of the workshop proceedings, are Early registration (valid up to 31st May 2009): 185 GBP (students 165) Late registration (from 1st June 2009): 215 GBP (students 185).
