Hello Bioconductor! I wanted to use the Rgraphviz package, as it would be very useful for me to visualize graphs and networks. However, I always get an Error message when I type in >library(Rgraphviz) >Error in inDL(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now), ...) : >kann shared library 'C:/PROGRA~2/R/R-27~1.2/library/Rgraphviz/libs/Rgraphviz.dll' nicht laden: > LoadLibrary failure: Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden. >Error : .onLoad in 'loadNamespace' für 'Rgraphviz' fehlgeschlagen >Fehler: Laden von Paket/Namensraum für 'Rgraphviz' fehlgeschlagen Which basically means that the package cannot be loaded and the modul was not found. Additionally, an error window pops up, saying that there the file “cdt.dll” was not found and the package shall be re-installed. I tried to install the package several times in different versions of R, and during the installation there are no problems. What is the cause for the problem I have? As many other package also use Rgraphviz, there seems to be no alternative, is there? Thank you for your help! Best wishes Fatima [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Hi Fatima You are using a really old version of R, so we cannot help you with that. When you install packages under Windows, all it does is download a zip file and extracting it (more or less), so the fact that youa re able to install the package does not mean much. You will need to install Graphviz on your computer, specifically version 2.20.3 (and not a later one). There are instructions in the README file in the top level directory of the the source tarball. We are aware that this is not the most obvious place to look and it is on the to do list. Please also see ton's of emails with similar problems.
