Dear Users, I would like to read JPG images into R and wish to do the following. 1) Rename Multiple JPG file. Eg: DSCN4883.JPG as My_Imgae_10x.JPG. 2) re-size ( without loosing quality) and arrange them in a single frame. 3) Embed scale bar. Is this possible to do in R ? with regards Sundar The INTERNET now has a personality. YOURS! See your Yahoo! Homepage. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

hi sundar, 1 and 2 should covered by the EBImage package. not sure about 3. you ever considered to do this using bona fide image manipulation tools such as ImageJ (http://rsbweb.nih.gov/ij/)? best tobias On Nov 7, 2009, at 5:10 AM, sundar Venkat wrote: > Dear Users, > I would like to read JPG images into R and wish > to do the following. > 1) Rename Multiple JPG file. Sundar - 3) is possible with "drawtext" for the scale bar legend, and the usual matrix subassignment of pixel values for the bar itself. Tobias - not sure what you mean by "bona fide". For ad hoc interactive image manipulation, there are many other tools that are easier to use than EBImage, the aim of that package is to be used when you want to automate things, or want to use R's statistics and machine learning tools.
