Hi, If I change the colormode to greyscale in an Image does it behave the same way as the chanel function (uniformly adding the RGB with equal weights). Or does it do something more sophisticated with gamma corrections or weights based on the image format? I could not find it in the reference manual. Thank you, Evan Misshula

Hello Evan, As mentionned in the EBImage vignette, colorMode() changes the image representation mode but not the image itself. On the contrary, channel() modifies the image. This is documented in ?colorMode. Try: example(colorMode) and example(channel) Hope this helps, Cheers, Greg --- Gregoire Pau EMBL Research officer http://www.embl.de/~gpau/ On 22/12/2010 18:16, Evan Misshula wrote: > Hi, > If I change the colormode to greyscale in an Image does it behave the same way as the chanel function (uniformly adding the RGB with equal weights).
