We are currently looking for 2 people to join our group as Bioinformatics Officers. The first post is to provide greater breadth and depth in the support we currently provide in statistics and mathematical biology, by providing extra capability in traditional statistical modelling, while developing new skills in mathematical modelling. Existing experience with biological data would be advantageous, but more important is the ability to work creatively by applying your mathematical and statistical expertise in direct response to scientific questions. It will require working with scientists on a regular basis and as such it will require good knowledge of molecular biology, genetics and analysis techniques for genomic data. Good knowledge of software and data resources such as the Genome Browsers would be advantageous.
