Sorry, you referred to two different machine configurations and I
wasn't
sure which one your sessionInfo came from. Taking a closer look, it
seems
like you do have BioC 2.9 installed. The version of BiocInstaller you
have
installed is 1.2.1 which is the correct version for BioC 2.9. See
http://www.bioconductor.org/packages/release/bioc/html/BiocInstaller.h

Or is there something else that makes you think you have 2.8
installed?
