Position: Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Associate Department: Research Center for Allergy and Immunology (RCAI), RIKEN Yokohama Institute, Japan An important mission of our research unit is to develop and maintain bioinformatics platform and data resources in order to gain immunological insights into Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases (PID) through genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic data and its analysis. To achieve this, we have developed an open access database on PID, designated as "Resource of Asian Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases - RAPID", a freely accessible worldwide web resource at http://rapid.rcai.riken.jp/. Outlines of ongoing research investigation include: (1) Elucidating PID signaling and regulatory pathways using visualization and high throughput data analysis software tools to identify potential candidate new molecules in PID pathogenesis (2) Mapping of phenotype terms and building of hierarchical PID ontology class structures for developing web-based integrated PID phenotype resource (3) Developing systematic workflow to handle annotation of complex and heterogeneous PIDs. Applicants should have a Ph.D or Master's degree in Computer science / Life Sciences with a strong Bioinformatics / Biostatistics background and a proven research track-record.
