Hey all, For the past 4 years, I have maintained a separate user (Google) group for the ComBat R function for removing batch effects from -omic data. In this time there have been more than 145 different posts on different topics ranging from technical issues with the ComBat function to issues with experimental design. The group currently has 135 members. We have recently implemented ComBat in the Bioconductor 'sva' package and this is now the official version of ComBat. I will still make the ComBat.R script available on my lab website jlab.bu.edu), but we will only support questions on the Bioconductor version. So at this point I think its appropriate to close the ComBat group and work through the Bioconductor mailing list. I'm moving the group to provide better general visibility and searchability of the threads and questions asked by ComBat users. Also, hopefully this will lead to more people helping to answer the nearly weekly emails I get regarding batch effects! Thanks for your support on this, Evan -- W.
