Dear Bioconductor, I am student at University of new haven, CT.I am trying to run my R scripts where I don't have X11() authentication to my account. I run those R scripts and when I generate any graphics I get error and it comes out from system. if possible , please let me know how can i run R scripts ...so, that I just SAVE BOX PLOT or HISTOGRAM jpeg or png files to current directory without poping up on screen or without using any devices or make them silent..or something. Thakn you, Saurin Jnai

Try ?jpeg to see how to use the jpeg device. This allows you to save your graphic as a jpeg file. There are also devices for bmp, postscript, etc. --Naomi At 01:16 PM 6/20/2004 -0700, you wrote: >Dear Bioconductor, > >I am student at University of new haven, CT.I am trying to run my R >scripts where I don't have >X11() authentication to my account. Thank you for your rpely, Dr. Wilson, I corrected my jpeg problem with png and tried pdfs but here, several R script writers so, if someone wants to use jpeg they should not be hasitate to write that..! If you are not able to get access to a remote X connection, you will not be able to use the X11 device. If you just have problems, I suggest approaching your local sysadmin with the problem. Just tell him/her that you want access to X - this has basically nothing to do with bioconductor. Provided you are using *NIX at both ends, and using ssh to login, you can just do a # ssh -X username@server This requires that the X server on the server allows X forwarding. I cannot really help without knowing more details about the server OS and the method you are using to get access to the server. /Kasper > > --- Kasper Daniel Hansen <k.hansen@biostat.ku.dk> wrote: > > On Sun, Jun 20, 2004 at 01:16:30PM -0700, SAURIN wrote: > > > Dear Bioconductor, > > > > > > I am student at University of new haven, CT.I am trying to run my R scripts where I don't have > > > X11() authentication to my account.
