Dear all,

As described in tutorial,  the first step to submit a new package is to  send an email to bioconductorseattle@gmail.com.

What is the waiting period?

What is the difference between  CRAN and Bioconductor libraries? my package depends on some functions from bioconductor and CRAN packages.

Thanks

Karim

I have replied to your email.

In future, questions about package development can go to the bioc-devel mailing list.

Your package can depend on both CRAN and Bioconductor packages.

The page referenced above has been updated to provide an indication of when it is appropriate to submit a package to Bioconductor; alternatives include CRAN (for packages outside the areas where Bioconductor has an established presence, or that have no interest in inter-operating with other Bioconductor packages) or R-forge / github and similar (for packages that are still under development).

Mail sent to the address on the page is answered by a human, usually 'immediately' (e.g., the day the email is sent), but there may be a lag for standard reasons (e.g., the person whose primary responsibility is to respond is not in the office for a short period).
