Hi, all

i am working in a pharmaceuticals industry, and planning to do bioinfomatics analysis based on NCBI open data.

due to the security of the company where i am working for, the FTP server connection is required to avoid the firewall check up.

last week, the FTP server of NCBI was IP address : 130.14.250.10, but now it has chaged to 130.14.250.11.

so i guess this IP address is changeable ? if so , it is very convenient for me to set up for firewall.

would you mind telling me how to solve this issue (changeable IP address of NCBI IP address)

This is the wrong place to ask. We are not affiliated with NCBI and we have no special knowledge of when they are going to change their IP address.

If you are on a machine outside the firewall you can just

ping ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

and it will display the IP address of the machine, which you can then forward to your sys admins.
