EMBL European Molecular Biology Laborat…

Bioconductors:

The Bioconductor channel on F1000Research will be publishing a collection of articles in time for the BioC 2016 conference, and we would like to invite you to contribute. We are specifically looking to publish articles on the following:
-     Cross-package workflows
-     Package-based vignettes that aim to solve scientific problems
-     Teaching labs
-     Benchmark studies
-     Methodological reviews
-     Perspectives relating to bioinformatics software

We’ll use the rapid and transparent publication process of F1000Research for this article collection: versionable articles are published within a few days of your submission, together with associated source code and data, before openly peer review by invited referees.

The submission deadline for this collection is May 31st. This is a firm deadline to ensure papers are published before BioC starts.  Articles will be published as and when they are ready, and we expect all contributions will be published by June 17th.
Tom Ingraham, who will be helping to coordinate the submissions on the F1000Research side of things will follow up shortly with further details and instructions.

We look forward to hearing from you

Kind regards
Wolfgang

A follow up to Wolfgang’s post about this special F1000Research collection for BioC 2016. The deadline date for the articles to be submitted is May 31st 2016. This date will enable us enough time to check the articles, go through them with you personally, get them typeset and published in time for BioC.

Instructions for writing up the software papers can be found here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V-idLNz_aembtQtkMrNWg9jL8K7VfwfxdkpWEoygih0/edit?usp=sharing). This process will be managed by the F1000Research in house editors. Please see the channel for some excellent examples of how the papers should be written: http://f1000research.com/channels/bioconductor.

To be included in the channel we need you to enter your details on this tracking sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DRA9oHiu41DDMVcxJ5bvDQyRwDagZrXM9ygEA-7SpZM/edit?usp=sharing. If you could add your names right away to let us know of your interest that would be very helpful and similarly if you are not interested just let me know so I can remove you from this email list.

I will follow up with the interested authors who add their names to the tracking sheet.

Any questions please let me know, always happy to help/advise.

Kind regards

Thomas
