Applications are invited for two postdoctoral research associate positions to work with Professor Simon Tavaré FRS and other members of the Statistics and Computational Biology Laboratory at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute in close collaboration with colleagues on two International Cancer Genome Consortium sequencing projects.
We are looking for two enthusiastic bioinformatician/statistician/analysts with experience in multi-omics dataset integration and analysis, one to work on prostate cancer data , and one to work on oesophageal adenocarcinoma data. Both projects are currently generating epigenetic and transcriptomic data to complement whole-genome sequencing data that have already been produced as well as expanding the scope of the projects to cover disease progression and heterogeneity beyond their original ICGC briefs.
Applicants must have:
- PhD in computational biology, statistics, bioinformatics or similar field
- Experience of large-scale "-omic" data analysis
- Strong programming and scripting skills and a commitment to reproducible analyses.
- Evidence of independence and of the ability to develop novel statistical or bioinformatical methods is essential
