Dear List, When trying to install RBGL1.8 for R-2.3.0 on Linux Itanium2 machines (64bit), it doesn't compile, giving pages of error messages, while it does compile on similar machines (same compiler) but 32 bit. Does someone have an idea why this doesn't compile on a 64? the package was downloaded from http://bioconductor.fhcrc.org/packages/bioc/1.8/html/RBGL.html Thank you very much Celine -- ---------------------------------------------------- Celine Carret PhD Pathogen Microarrays group The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute Hinxton, Cambridge CB10 1SA, UK. tel. +44 (0)1223 494 940 fax. +44 (0)1223 494 919 email: ckc at sanger.ac.uk http://www.sanger.ac.uk/PostGenomics/PathogenArrays/

I have no problem building the package on IA-2 64bit machine w/ gcc and icc. If you could provide us the error msgs you got from your installation, we have a chance to help. Without any such info, it's very hard. A few questions: (1) what's g++ version? (you could find out by: g++ --version ) (2) it seems you installed through some job queue, what do you get when you do it manually: .../R CMD INSTALL RBGL-1.8.1.tar.gz ? (3) what are the include path and library path? (env variables like INCLUDE_PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH) Li > I have copied the error message on this .txt file.
