We seek a highly motivated Bioinformatician to manage and analyze data generated by an ultrahigh-throughput DNA sequencing instrument (e.g. Solexa, 454, ABI Solid or similar). Responsibilities will include setting up analysis pipelines to conduct downstream bioinformatics analysis including: mapping to reference sequences, genome re-sequencing, ncRNA deep-sequencing, expression analysis, chip-seq, data quality control, genome scale data analysis. The Bioinformatician will be involved in experimental setup, data generation and mining for multiple research centers. Candidates must have a post graduate qualification in Bioinformatics or a primary degree in computer science with a postgraduate qualification in biological science. Applicants with computing skills and consolidated biological background from a numerate discipline (computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, biophysics) are also encouraged to apply. Some programming skills (Java, C++, Perl or Python) applied in a heterogeneous computing environment is essential as well as a basic experience in handling and maintaining MySQL database. Knowledge of a statistical analysis language such as R/Bioconductor is a plus.
