The Department of Biostatistics at Virginia Commonwealth University
is
seeking applicants specializing in genomic biostatistics for a
tenure track
position at the level of assistant (or associate) professor.
Qualifications
include: Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or
related
field. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the
analyses of
genomic and/or proteomic data, familiarity with statistical
programming
environments for analyzing such data, and have excellent oral and
written
communication skills. Application areas of particular interest
include
epigenomics, cancer genomics, whole genome association studies, and
analysis
of signaling pathways. Techniques of particular interest
include
multivariate analysis, time series analysis and Bayesian methods.
Primary
responsibilities include teaching and advising graduate students as
well as
conducting independent methodological research. In addition, the
successful
applicant will be expected to collaborate with other VCU
investigators in
related fields in obtaining extramural grant support.
