I have two lists of GO terms and I want to figure out the overlap between these two. So far I have found GOstats and the commands simUI and oneGOgraph. However, the latter one requires an environment. I understand that I should probably use a PARENTS environment. However, I am not able to figure out the difference between the PARENTS and the ANCESTOR environments. Thanks! Hi Karin, The terminology is just like what you would use for describing families. Parents are the direct ancestors of children, whereas ancestors include parents and all who came before them (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, ...).
