Brand new to this list; sorry if anybody has already asked this question. What's the way to convert an Affymetrix .cdf file into a bioconductor .cdf file? I know somebody may point me to a place where I can download the files. But I would also like to know how to do that. Thanks very much! Jamie [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

You need to use the makecdfenv package. Jim James W. MacDonald Affymetrix and cDNA Microarray Core University of Michigan Cancer Center 1500 E. The package makecdfenv is the place to check. It contains parsers for the CDF files, and utilities to create cdfenvs (what you probably refer to by "bioconductor .cdf"). The package makecdfenv and cdfenv packages can both be downloaded from the website (the former in either the section "release" or "devel", and the later in the section "metadata"). Hoping it helps, L.
