Hi, Does anyone knows if it's possible to normalize (with rma or other method (to specify)) different microarray data made at different time, and of completely different experiment. I would like to normalize different microarray data so that I can compare them. Any link to the litterature will be welcome! Thanks for your help! Jamila

Hi, All chips that are in an affybatch get normalized together, i.e. *cross-chip* normalization. I think this is the whole purpose of normalization ... . regards, Arne > -----Original Message----- > From: bioconductor-bounces@stat.math.ethz.ch > [mailto:bioconductor-bounces@stat.math.ethz.ch]On Behalf Of > gjam@daimi.au.dk > Sent: 26 February 2004 09:23 > To: Bioconductor@stat.math.ethz.ch > Subject: [BioC] normalization > > > Hi, > Does anyone knows if it's possible to normalize (with rma or > other method (to > specify)) different microarray data made at different time, > and of completely > different experiment. Hi, I want to normalize a set of data from different microarrays, and for each of the experiments (microarray) I only have the control values at 0h. This means that I don't have any duplicates. I've already used the rma method to preprocess that data, and I've put the mean at 0 and the variance at 1. Do you have an idea on what I could do next to furthur normalize my data so that I can compare them? Thanks a lot, Jamila
