An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate
(biostatistician/statistical geneticist) to join the Department of

additional role as lead of the Translational Epigenetic group.
The successful candidate will work on a project involving the
epigenetic analysis of the National Survey of Health and Development
(NSHD) Medical Research Council (MRC) 1946 Birth Cohort with the aim
to identify and associate epigenetic markers, such as DNA methylation
(DNAme), with cancer predisposition as well as other crucial
epidemiological data available in the cohort, and also to explore the
impact of tissue specificity on DNAme signatures and the power of
their association with clinical endpoints.
Dr Andrew Teschendorff who leads the Statistical Cancer Genomics group
at the UCL Cancer Institute is a close collaborator of the Women's
Cancer Department and will be involved in the supervision of the
successful candidate.
The post is funded for 2 year in the first instance.
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in Statistical
Bioinformatics or a related mathematical discipline (e.g. statistics,
computer science, physics, engineering) and have experience of R and
