Iam trying to install MotIV Here is the error : [exec] /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgsl [exec] collect2: ld returned 1 exit status [exec] make: *** [MotIV.so] Error 1 [exec] ERROR: compilation failed for package âMotIVâ [exec] * removing â/opt/users/swaroopa/LSBUILDBOX/trunk/dependenc ies/bioconductor210/build/portable-R/site-library/MotIVâ [exec] ERROR: command LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/users/swaroopa/LSBUIL DBOX/trunk/dependencies/bioconductor210/build/srcLibs/../../../gsl- 1_13/gsl/lib GSL_CONFIG=/opt/users/swaroopa/LSBUILDBOX/trunk/dependenc ies/bioconductor210/build/srcLibs/../../../gsl-1_13/gsl/bin/gsl-config ../portable-R/R CMD INSTALL MotIV > out.txt failed! (1) I verified libgsl.so file by typing locate libgsl.so and it pointed to the exact directory iam pointing to . I am expecting a linker error . For most linux distributions there are GSL packages that can be installed with apt-get (debian/ubuntu), yum (fedora), zypper (openSUSE), etc. You will need the GSL development (headers) package as well. On ubuntu it's called libgsl-dev, on RPM-based systems it's called libgsl-devel.
