Dear List, I was wondering if there is a tool which can help me remove the duplicate probes based on the location of the probes?. To be precise, I wanted to select the probe which is closest to the 3'UTR region and discard the others. Is it possible?. Can anyone suggest me what steps to use if a tool is already not there?. Thanks, Himanshu [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

I highly doubt there is an existing tool, but given your description I have no idea. What exactly do you mean by duplicate probes? Are we talking about Affy chips here? What kind of chip? When you say probe, do you mean probe (e.g., a single 25-mer) or probeset (a set of such probes)?
