Hi All, Would any of you know any good reference where the use of control spots (positive controls for which we put equal amount of RNA or DNA in both channels) are used as a sole source for global or local normalization in cDNA microarrays? I am particularly interested in the number needed and the statistical treatment that goes with them. Thanks a lot, Christian Landry ------( )-------- Christian Landry

Dear Christian, The R package and the reference you want are genomics.sma R package (van Peppel et al,(2003) EMBO reports,Monitoring global messenger RNA changes in externally controlled microarray experiments).
