I'm getting an error that says "incorrect number of dimensions" when I try to use parLapply on a function that works fine on a single non- multicore node. I see that bug fixes from 2011 indicated that this was a patched bug. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this. Could you please advise? -- output of sessionInfo(): sessionInfo() R version 3.0.2 (2013-09-25) Platform: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu (64-bit) locale: [1] LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=C LC_TIME=C [4] LC_COLLATE=C LC_MONETARY=C LC_MESSAGES=C [7] LC_PAPER=C LC_NAME=C LC_ADDRESS=C [10] LC_TELEPHONE=C LC_MEASUREMENT=C LC_IDENTIFICATION=C attached base packages: [1] parallel stats graphics grDevices utils datasets methods [8] base other attached packages: [1] Matching_4.8-3.4 MASS_7.3-29 doParallel_1.0.3 [4] iterators_1.0.6 foreach_1.4.1 BiocInstaller_1.12.0 loaded via a namespace (and not attached): [1] codetools_0.2-8 tools_3.0.2 -- Sent via the guest posting facility at bioconductor.org.

Please provide cop/paste into a follow up email: (1) a small piece of example data (use the dput() function); and (2) the exact code you are using that triggers this error So that we can help you out ... otherwise, we'd have to start with the basics, such as "Please ensure that your PC is plugged into a power socket" which will quickly get frustrating for both parties ;-) -steve -- Steve Lianoglou Computational Biologist Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Genentech
