Statistical Bioinformatician/Geneticist ================================ Radcliffe Department of Medicine, Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford Grade 8: ?37,756 - ?45,053 p.a. Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Statistical Bioinformatician/Geneticist to join an existing research team led by Professor Andrew Wilkie FRS at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM). This is a full-time position funded until 31 January 2019 by the Wellcome Trust and available immediately. This position will allow the successful candidate to participate in several focused research projects and be involved in the analysis of large next-generation sequencing data sets, as well as studying mutations and their impact on evolution and disease. This project is a collaboration with Professor Gil McVean (Statistical Genetics, the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics), Dr Anne Goriely and Dr Stephen Twigg. You will have a degree in a relevant subject and a strong up-to-date background in bioinformatics and its applications to genetics and next-generation sequencing. Experience with one or more statistical or mathematical programming languages (R/Bioconductor or Matlab) and good computational and mathematical skills are essential, as well as a PhD or equivalent relevant research experience.
