The Institute of Molecular Biology gGmbH www.imb-mainz.de) is a Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences, funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, and located within the campus of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the group of Quantitative Proteomics. The group applies advanced mass spectrometry and next generation sequencing to diverse biological research questions in epigenetics, gene regulation, RNA biology and genome stability. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join our dynamic interdisciplinary team with strong methodological background. Expertise in mass spectrometry is not required.

Job description

  • Perform research in an attractive scientific environment

  • Integrate data from multiple omics sources (mass spectrometry and next generation sequencing)

  • Support lab members and collaborators with large scale analysis
     

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Natural Sciences or related areas

  • Expert skills in any programming language (R/Bioconductor is a plus)

  • Strong methodological background and prior experience in large scale data analysis

  • Excellent communication skills and good team spirit

  • Ability to solve problems independently

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
