I am trying to do a rainfall plot with SomaticSignatures, but keeping getting:

> Error in .local(object, ...) : geom must be one of: text rect

This would usually use "point" as geometry.

I am running R-3.2.4.

As far as I can tell, plotRainfall uses plotGrandLinear, from ggbio which uses ggplot2, but "point" as geometry seems OK there.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Answering my own question: If I coerce my VRanges object to a GRanges object, everything works again...

Thank you for bringing up this issue! This is clearly a bug, as plotRainfall should also handle VRanges inputs. I'm still a bit puzzled on why this stopped working, it may have been related to changes in ggbio.

As you have already said, converting to a GRanges circumvents the problem. I'll fix this in the package soon. Since bioconductor is currently close to its freezing stage for the next release, I may have to wait a few days until I can safely push it without causing other problems.
