Hi, Everything seems to be fine, but if I ssh into another machine and try to say library(tcltk) R quits with this error message: X Error of failed request: BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 20 (X_GetProperty) Atom id in failed request: 0x43d Serial number of failed request: 11 Current serial number in output stream: 11 This does not happen if I run R on my desktop or if I set DISPLAY to mydesktop:0. Other X applications run normally over the SSH session. This seems to be a problem with tcltk. Can you run tcltk over ssh outside of R (not that I know how to do this)? I guess this problem has nothing to do with R, but what do I know. Anyway, this is clearly a tcltk problem. Contact the R-help list and possibly the maintainer of the tcltk package. Thanks, Kasper. For the record, this is fixed by doing ssh -Y server or setting ForwardX11Trusted yes in ~/.ssh/config Simon Kasper Daniel Hansen wrote on 04/13/2005 03:25 PM: > This seems to be a problem with tcltk.
