get_known_signatures function has parameter source = c("COSMIC", "SIGNAL", "SPARSE"). COSMIC signatures are versioned. It would be good to have another parameter allowing the user fo choose the version (e.g. version 2). This could be useful if trying to reproduce a published study using an older set of signatures.

Hi Dario, The newest version of MutationalPatterns contains both COSMIC version 3.1 and 3.2. You can explicitly choose version 3.1 or version 3.2. If users worry about reproducibility they can also save the signature matrix that they use in a separate file and load it manually. If users want signatures from an older COSMIC version they could also download these from COSMIC itself.
