We are looking for a quantitative scientist with extensive experience in computational biology and bioinformatics. Ideally, you have demonstrated experience conducting creative and independent research analyzing a broad range of genomic datasets and have knowledge in genetics and biology. Our team is very collaborative, and the ability to communicate ideas and results to other scientists is important.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your interest, we have a couple of potential projects to work:
Improve variant-to-gene mapping using epigenetics data
Evaluate novel methods to identify biomarkers
Learn about and contribute to the innovative drug development pipeline at 23andMe
Work on cross-functional teams and connect with scientists with a broad range of expertise.
Present the research findings to the team at the end of your internship
What You’ll Bring
Currently pursuing a Ph.D degree, preferably in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience working with large genomic datasets.
Experience in developing robust data analysis in R or Python.
Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to convey complex computational results to colleagues
Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment
Strongly Preferred
Knowledge of human genetics, GWAS and QTLs.
Knowledge of either epigenomics data or biomarkers.
