Hi, I m using Bioconductor to suties some patients, in the past we had hu6800 microarray data never exploited, now we use the chip hgu133a. I m wondering how many ways I may have to look for common genes between these 2 different chip. I m studying the same groups with the same statistical tests with the same patients with different chips. Is therte possible to find common genes between those 2 different chips? how? thanks -------------------------------------------------- D.Enrique ESCOBAR ESPINOZA B.Sc.) http://adn.bioinfo.uqam.ca/~escd07097301/ ICQ#: 201778618 ------------------------------------------------- 1487, Boul. Hi Enrique, You could use biomaRt to do this, here an example: getHomolog( id = "1424184_at", to.array = "hg_u95av2", from.array = "mouse430a_2", mart = mart ) you can also use this function within one species and use a list of id's. Also have a look at the matchprobes package. best, Steffen D.Enrique ESCOBAR ESPINOZA wrote: >Hi, >I m using Bioconductor to suties some patients, >in the past we had hu6800 microarray data never exploited, >now we use the chip hgu133a. >I m wondering how many ways I may have to look for common genes >between >these 2 different chip. >I m studying the same groups with the same statistical tests with the >same patients with different chips. >Is therte possible to find common genes between those 2 different >chips? >how? >thanks > >-------------------------------------------------- >D.Enrique ESCOBAR ESPINOZA B.Sc.) >http://adn.bioinfo.uqam.ca/~escd07097301/ >ICQ#: 201778618 >------------------------------------------------- >1487, Boul.
