Hi,

I`m trying to use DiffBind package and having an error with dba command: cannot allocate vector of size 2GB. I`m running the most recent DiffBind version, 64-bit version of R on a computer with 8GB RAM. I reduced the number of samples from 6 to 4, but still get the same error only with smaller size limitation (1024.0 Mb). Is there any way to fix it?

Thank you!

Katia

Hi Katia-

I haven't seen this in recent versions. How big are your peak files (how many lines/peaks in the files)? I'm thinking if there are 1M peaks or more this could happen. If you could send me the 4-sample sample sheet and the 4 peak files, I could check how memory is being allocated.

Hi Rory,

Thank you for your response. Indeed, I used the wrong peak file, which was too big. I`ve changed the parameters for peak calling, got several thousands of peaks and now everything works perfectly fine.  Thank you!
