The Channing Division of Network Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School are seeking applicants for a postdoctoral position in bioinformatics. The position will focus on the analysis of microRNA-Seq data from a Latin American cohort of childhood asthmatics, with additional integrative omic investigations including the analysis of whole-genome sequencing data and mRNA transcriptomic profiling.  The work will be primarily supervised by Assistant Professor Michael McGeachie, but it will also include interacting with a highly-interdisciplinary team of researchers from both the Channing and elsewhere in the Longwood Medical Area.

Programming proficiency in some language is required (e.g. Java, C, C++, Python, MATLAB or R). Previous experience with analyzing genome-wide data and/or next generation sequencing data is desired. Scientific publications in a peer-reviewed journal are necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
