Job Description:
We are searching for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on integrative analysis of cancer proteome and genome at the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute (GCCRI), The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. We are a computational cancer biology lab with a strong focus on data mining and integration. The position offers a unique opportunity to participate in developing new approaches integrating proteomics and genomics. The postdoctoral fellow candidate will have the opportunity to leverage level one data from public resources such as TCGA, TARGET, and will have access to a large collection of in-house data (including Hi-C, DNA/RNA sequencing of cell lines and xenografts) being generated at GCCRI. Our institute provides a multidisciplinary and collegial academic environment, led by Dr. Peter Houghton, and convenient access to an extensive array of core facilities including the genomic sequencing core.
Responsibility and Requirements:
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, experience working on Linux-type servers and strong programming skills in R /Bioconductor, Python, or Perl. The position requires expertise in genomics, transcriptomics and/or proteomics data analysis. The candidate will work on integrative analysis of multiple levels of omics data, including both the use of established methods and building new strategies. The individual will also participate in the development of proteogenomic analysis pipeline.
