Hello all,

Thanks for your time.

I am trying to complete the Bioconductor Basics tutorial and am stuck in the standardisation step (step 4,part 4).

I get the following message.

slot(Golub_TrainSub,"exprs") <- X Error in checkSlotAssignment(object, name, value) : ‘exprs’ is not a slot in class “ExpressionSet”

Golub_TrainSub is ;

Golub_TrainSub ExpressionSet (storageMode: lockedEnvironment) assayData: 7129 features, 38 samples element names: exprs protocolData: none phenoData sampleNames: 1 2 ... 33 (38 total) varLabels: Samples ALL.AML ... Any help would be really appreciated. Have a great day.

There is no longer any tutorial called "Bioconductor basics tutorial". I am going to take a wild guess that you are reading code from 16 years ago:

https://www.bioconductor.org/help/course-materials/2002/Summer02Course/Labs/basics.pdf

This tutorial is from 2002. It is very, very out of date so it should be no surprise that the code no longer works!

The current version can be found by going to the Bioconductor webpage and following the links to "workflows":

http://bioconductor.org/packages/release/workflows/vignettes/arrays/inst/doc/arrays.html
