I am new in R. I want to identify genes differentially expressed by using GLM. I used the function model.matrix to get the design matrix and then wanted to estimate the dispersion using the function estimateDisp ( Actually it was my professor's solution). I didn't understand what does estimateDisp do exactly? Thank you for your answer
