When I quit R, I am asked if I want to save the workspace. What is the name of this file (default)? Thanks Shawn

.RData = workspace .RHistory = history of commands these may be hidden files on a windows OS morten > > When I quit R, I am asked if I want to save the workspace. Hi Morten, Thanks for the filenames. However, filenames that begin with a period are hidden on the Mac (I am using OS version 10.4.9). I do not know how to make them visible, nor do I know whether it's important or not, since I don't know what's in them. Is the easiest way to save a transcript of a session to copy and paste it into a text document? Just give them a name, before the extension, and they'll be visible. Check ?save.image, to save the workspace from the R command line. Also see ?savehistory to save the commands given in the session. This is probably what you want to save a transcript of the session that can be opened in a text document...
