Dear list, I am trying to use exonmap to analyze an Affy exon array data. I am wondering if there is a detailed instruction available which can help me to start the process (e.g. MySQL installation and setting up connection of the database with exonmap)? Another question I have is if I can install MySQL onto my desktop (32-bit machine) to work with exonmap or I have to install the database onto a 64-bit machine? I appreciate any help you could provide! Hi Jianping, There is a detailed INSTALL.TXT that comes with the MySQL download: http://xmap.picr.man.ac.uk/download/#1 And I think you will definitely need a 64 bit comp to use it. If you don't have access to such a machine, you might consider using aroma.affymetrix which is designed to run without much RAM.
