> Are you serious? I think the bigger issue is that the Bioconductor list has recently been seeing a fairly large amount of mails that the filters at phil*.ethz.ch have analysed as spam but nonetheless allowed to pass through. Has something changed @ ETH? In the list configuration perhaps? -- Atro Tossavainen (Mr.) / The Institute of Biotechnology at Systems Analyst, Techno-Amish & / the University of Helsinki, Finland, +358-9-19158939 UNIX Dinosaur / employs me, but my opinions are my own. < URL : http : / / www . helsinki . fi / %7E atossava / > NO FILE ATTACHMENTS

Am I serious? The bigger issue? Well, I rather agree with <atossava at="" cc.helsinki.fi=""> And, it is not an obstructed airway so we need not intubate so in that sense it is not serious but We did deal with the security certificate and We did deal with the junk email problem and It is fun to watch pure Bio email go by so in a way I am serious Can we stop Bio.Spam? Is Bio spoofing preventable? Maybe not, maybe Bio.Spam Bio.Spoofing is inevitable, unstoppable, how life is But worthy of discussion (although may have been discussed long ago as usual) -- Loren Engrav Univ Washington Seattle > From: Atro Tossavainen <atossava at="" cc.helsinki.fi=""> > Reply-To: <atro.tossavainen at="" helsinki.fi=""> > Date: Tue, 18 Dec 2007 14:36:51 +0200 (EET) > To: "bioconductor at stat.math.ethz.ch" <bioconductor at="" stat.math.ethz.ch=""> > Subject: [BioC] Spam on BioC (was Re: Wannt new PPorshe or BMW?) > >> Are you serious? > > I think the bigger issue is that the Bioconductor list has recently been > seeing a fairly large amount of mails that the filters at phil*.ethz.ch > have analysed as spam but nonetheless allowed to pass through.
