We have an opening at Nuvera Biosciences in the broader Boston area for a Bioinformatics Analyst. The position is flexible and part-time, contract assignments will be considered. If interested, please send a CV and a note outlining your interest and experience to christos.hatzis@nuverabio.com BIOINFORMATICS ANALYST/COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGIST A dynamic, molecular diagnostics company focused on cancer is looking for a highly qualified person to work on several challenging genomic projects underway. The projects involve analysis of large, complex multidimensional biological datasets generated from genomic or metabolomic technologies through collaborations with multi-disciplinary teams. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, collaborative and multi- disciplinary team focused on developing clinical molecular diagnostics tests. Key responsibilities will include data management, data analysis, programming and reporting, as needed for the projects. The candidate should have a degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, or biostatistics and strong scientific skills. Key responsibilities: . Provide informatics support to molecular diagnostics programs. . Responsible for QC, normalization and analysis of microarray data. . Provide expertise to analyze multidimensional data generated by genomic technologies, including microarrays, exon arrays and miRNA arrays and SNPs. . Responsible for data management and administration of project databases. . Implement various analyses and reporting tools in R/Bioconductor. . Report results of analyses for project reports, presentations and peer review publications. Key skills: . Proven computer programming proficiency and quantitative data analysis capabilities in R and Bioconductor is required. Knowledge of scripting environments such as PERL is beneficial. . Experience and working knowledge of Linux environments. . Experience with database systems such as MySQL. Familiarity with large-scale database frameworks such as caBIG or alike is desirable. . Good understanding of the scientific principles of high- throughput genomic technologies including microarrays, exon arrays, miRNA, deep sequencing etc is highly desirable. . Biostatistics skills would be beneficial. . Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively as part of a team and to report results of analyses. The candidate may have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Statistics and have demonstrated familiarity with statistical biocomputing tools and a track record in a research or corporate environment.
