This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------706AAF69B7644CD5AF81F506 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit We installed R1.5.1 under an application user id, and loaded Bioconductor into it (while logged in as the application id) as per the instructions. This is on an SGI multiuser system. The application id can load the library marrayPlots without any problems. When any onelse tries library(marrayPlots) we get: Loading required package: tcltk Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) : unable to load shared library "/tools/Rstat1.5.1/lib/R/library/tcltk/libs/tcltk.so": 1203256:/tools/Rstat1.5.1/lib/R/bin/R.bin: rld: Fatal Error: ..... The file itself has the correct permissions to be world readable: ls -l /tools/Rstat1.5.1/lib/R/library/tcltk/li bs/tcltk.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 applicat academic 48196 Sep 26 09:08 /tools/Rstat1.5.1/lib/R/library/tcltk/libs/tcltk.so and so do the directories along the path. As it loads properly for the application id, I am assuming that rld is setup for the application user in the R script, but not for other users. But I cannot see in $RHOME/lib/R/bin/R where that is. Is there an obvious answer to this question? -- Len Zaifman Manager, Supercomputing Systems Centre for Computational Biology Hospital for Sick Children Toronto,Ont.
