Dear All, Can you please let me know of any summer schools/workshops dealing with microarray data analysis (advanced methods and/or Bioconductor) that will be available this year (ideally, although not only, in Canada or Eastern US). Thanks, Mira Miroslava Cuperlovic-Culf, Ph.D. Beausejour Medical Research Institute (IRMB) 35 Providence Street, Moncton, NB E1C 8X3 Canada tel: 506-862-7572 (off.) 506-862-7570 (lab); fax: 506-862-7571 e-mail: miroslavac@health.nb [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

There will be a course offered in Boston in either June or July. Details will be posted as soon as possible. I believe it will be a two day course with minimal facilities: individuals who want to do hands-on computing will have to bring a laptop. CDs with current software images will be provided. Likely curriculum: 1) brief review of R and package/documentation concepts; 2) microarray data structures and workflow models; 3) importing to Bioconductor from diverse formats; 4) preprocessing; 5) exprSets and allied structures and methods; 6) filtering and exploratory data analysis/visualization; 7) experimental design and inference procedures; 8) annotation and reporting resources. Currently the course is not projected to include basic training in R or statistics. Persons interested in attending such a course or suggesting details for the curriculum should reply to me directly with BIOCTRAIN in the header of your e-mail. The fee is expected to be about $250 for academics, $500 for commercial researchers. --- Vince Carey, PhD Ass't Prof Med (Biostatistics) Harvard Medical School Channing Laboratory - ph 6175252265 fa 6177311541 New cell phone number: 6178524863 181 Longwood Ave Boston MA 02115 USA stvjc@channing.harvard.edu On Wed, 10 Mar 2004, Miroslava Cuperlovic-Culf wrote: > Dear All, > Can you please let me know of any summer schools/workshops dealing with > microarray data analysis (advanced methods and/or Bioconductor) that will be > available this year (ideally, although not only, in Canada or Eastern US). > Thanks, > Mira > > > > Miroslava Cuperlovic-Culf, Ph.D. > Beausejour Medical Research Institute (IRMB) > 35 Providence Street, Moncton, NB E1C 8X3 > Canada > tel: 506-862-7572 (off.) 506-862-7570 (lab); fax: 506-862-7571 > e-mail: miroslavac@health.nb > > > [[alternative HTML version deleted]] > > _______________________________________________ > Bioconductor mailing list > Bioconductor@stat.math.ethz.ch > https://www.stat.math.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/bioconductor >
