When I do: openVignette("estrogen") Adobe Reader tells me the the file is damaged and could not be repaired. I tried downloading estrogen from source, and found the estrogen.Rnw file, but although I can successfully create estrogen.tex, I cannot figure out how to access the appropriate style files (yes, I copied Sweave.sty, but still no luck). I'm sure I can *eventually* figure this out, but meanwhile, does anyone happen to have a working version of the estrogen vignette, by Robert Gentleman and Wolfgang Huber? Thanks! Adele

Hi Adele, where did you get the source package from? At some point, there were problems building the PDF file of the vignette automatically from the source using "R CMD build". But it should always work to run R, change into the inst/doc directory of the package, and say Sweave("estrogen.Rnw") then go into a shell and say pdflatex estrogen The only other style file that is needed is bioCexercises.sty, which is in the same directory as estrogen.Rnw, and needs to be in your TEXINPUTS environment variable. Anyway, I will send you the PDF file as an attachment to a separate mail. Enjoy, Wolfgang <quote who="Adele Cutler"> > When I do: > > openVignette("estrogen") > > Adobe Reader tells me the the file is damaged and could not be repaired.
