The link in my response is very specific. Is there something unclear about the instructions?

Which is why I linked to the instructions on the Bioconductor website that tell you exactly how to update. Did you click the link?

You need to install the new version of R first.

Then you start R and do

install.packages("BiocManager")
library(BiocManager)

After which you can use BiocManager::install to install whatever packages you wish to use.
